The late Ruth Brown, among the most influential of early R&B artists, was intended to be in the original cast of Honeydripper. Her pre-record sessions for the film were videotaped in Los Angeles in August of 2006, only months before she fell seriously ill and eventually passed away. The video was edited by John Sayles for Ruth’s memorial service. It stands as her last performance.

John and I have been really busy finishing HONEYDRIPPER and setting it up for its release in early 2008.

Hold on:if I can wait, you can wait. We’re going to take the time we need to create awareness of HONEYDRIPPER so that when it comes out everybody is there at the door of their local theater, just waiting to be let in.
